Get into Music is an introductory access music programme which can be delivered in school environments through ‘whole class’ or small group participation. The programme is suitable for children aged 7+. The aim of the access programme is to engage children in performance, composition and creativity. A non-mainstream music education initiative, the programme supports and adds value to the school music curriculum through engaging a professional musician and tutor to work with students alongside their teacher. During the programme, students try out various instruments (e.g. percussion, keys, stringed instruments), compose and play basic rhythms and melodies and complete a final performance. Programme content and duration can be tailored to suit the needs and requirements of each school.
